Support Broker (SB)

Support Broker (SB) — Mid-Missouri Supported Living

Support Broker (SB)

A Support Broker provides the individual or their designated representative with information and assistance to secure the supports and services identified in the Individual Service Plan (ISP) — helping them fulfill employer responsibilities in the Self-Directed Supports (SDS) program.

A Support Broker helps individuals and their designated representatives (DRs) navigate Missouri's Self-Directed Supports (SDS) program. This DD Waiver option gives individuals greater control over how their supports are organized, staffed, and managed — but it also requires the individual or their DR to take on employer responsibilities for their own support staff.

MMSL's Support Broker service provides the information, guidance, and hands-on assistance needed to fulfill those responsibilities — including hiring, scheduling, timekeeping, and coordinating with the Financial Management Service (FMS). The long-term goal is independence: as an individual becomes more confident managing their own supports, the level of broker involvement decreases.

Support Broker services are available to individuals with an active DD Waiver who have chosen the Self-Directed Supports option. If you're unsure whether SDS and a Support Broker are the right fit, contact MMSL — we can walk you through the options and help you determine next steps with your Support Coordinator.
