Our CN program helps individuals access and engage in community activities that foster meaningful relationships with non-paid community members — from leisure and recreation to volunteering, cultural events, and wellness activities.
Community Networking (CN) services help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build meaningful connections and participate fully in their communities. Unlike programming confined to a center or facility, CN supports take place out in the real world — at local events, businesses, volunteer sites, parks, and recreational venues across Mid-Missouri.
Each CN plan is driven by the individual's own goals as identified in their Individual Service Plan (ISP). MMSL staff support participation in a wide variety of activities: leisure and recreation, cultural and spiritual events, health and wellness programs, pre-vocational experiences, and opportunities to build relationships with non-paid community members.
CN services are flexible and designed to complement other MMSL supports. Many individuals coordinate their CN hours with ISL residential services or Day Program participation, creating a full week of integrated support built around what matters most to them.
